Ah, Nepal! The land of majestic mountains, serene lakes, and... impromptu dance-offs? Yes, you heard that right. Join me as I recount my unforgettable trip to Nepal with my colleagues Mani and Riya. Spoiler alert: it involves missed flights, bumpy rides, and some serious boogieing.

The Beginning: Delhi to Kathmandu

Our adventure kicked off on April 18th with a flight from Delhi to Kathmandu on Royal Nepal Airlines. Unfortunately, our trio became a duo when Mani missed his flight due to a farmer protest. He eventually caught a flight the next morning, but not before we made a hundred jokes at his expense.

Kathmandu: The Warm Welcome

Riya and I landed in Kathmandu and were greeted by our Senior Operations Manager, Dipendra—truly the best host ever. He waited patiently for us, despite our flight being delayed by a couple of hours. His calm demeanor set the tone for what was to be an extraordinary trip.

The Bumpy Ride to Damauli

The next morning, we embarked on a journey to Damauli for our colleagues Saphal's & Anju’s wedding. The road was more rollercoaster than highway, but we made the most of it with singing, dancing, and gossiping.

Wedding Shenanigans in Damauli

We arrived in Damauli in the afternoon, took a quick nap, and headed to the wedding venue. The wedding was a blast! We initiated a dance-off that got everyone tapping their feet to Nepali and Bollywood tunes. Our photoshoot skills were also on point—especially mine, considering how often I jumped into the frame.

Exploring Pokhara: The Scenic Wonderland

The next day, we set off for Pokhara, famous for its scenic views and vibrant nightlife. We stayed at a resort near the serene Phewa Lake. After a hearty lunch of delicious Nepali cuisine, we explored several must-see spots:

  • Mahendra Cave: A limestone wonder with bats hanging above. It felt like we were in a Batman movie.
  • Devi’s Fall: Named after a girl named David who slipped into the fall. Yes, David, not Devi. Confusing, right?
  • Gupteshwor Mahadev Cave: An architectural marvel opposite Devi’s Fall.
  • World Peace Pagoda: A beautiful monument offering stunning mountain and lake views.

We clicked a gazillion pictures, mostly featuring yours truly. What can I say? The camera loves me.

The Epic Trek and Boat Ride

From the Peace Pagoda, we trekked down to Phewa Lake. For a not-so-fit person like me, it was quite the workout, but the breathtaking views made it worthwhile. We then took a boat ride, singing and soaking in the beauty around us.

The Nightlife of Pokhara

That evening, we dined at an open-air restaurant by the lake, with live music adding to the ambiance. Post-dinner at the resort well organized by the team, we hit the nightlife scene. Club16 was our destination, and it was a riot! I even tried my first tequila shot. Unfortunately, some of our friends couldn't join us because they were wearing slippers—a rookie mistake.

The Unplanned Adventures

Dipendra and I decided to explore Pokhara further post-midnight. Let's just say not all adventures are meant to be shared in detail?? We made it back to the resort, exhausted but exhilarated.

One More Day in Paradise

While most colleagues returned to Kathmandu the next morning, four of us—Mani, Arun, our boss Saunak, and I decided to stay an extra day in Pokhara. We visited Pumdikot and Begnastaal, both beautiful but requiring a lot of walking on elevated roads. My legs still haven’t forgiven me.

The Great Flight Mix-Up

Our flight from Pokhara to Kathmandu was an adventure. Originally scheduled for 11:30 am, it was preponed to 10:30 am, only to be delayed back to 11:30 am. Classic!

The Final Day in Kathmandu

Back in Kathmandu, Mani and Riya visited the Pashupati Nath temple while I joined Saunak at the Marriott. We indulged in snacks, cocktails, and a brainstorming session on our top-secret AI project, SAM. It’s a revolutionary step of Spiralogics in the world of AI, Kudos to the entire team who somehow failed to keep the secret but created something that will transform the healthcare industry, Mark my words!

Farewell, Nepal

April 24th arrived, and it was time to say goodbye to Nepal. We left with hearts full of memories, promising to return the hospitality to our Nepali friends in India.
