Reminiscing beginning of Spiralogics:

Each year 9th of July has been a memorable and historic day, as it's the date when Spiralogics International was officially established in Nepal. Spiralogics has always been dedicated to provide best services to its customers. To achieve this success, there is no doubt all employees have played a significant role and made it possible to come this far in software industry. Before current pandemic, when world was normal, Spiralogics always celebrated its anniversary in a grand way. Like our special 10th anniversary when we all went on an outing to Dakshinkali Resort for celebration. It was, without any doubt, one of the most memorable outing.

Celebration in pandemic:

Pandemic has never been an obstacle when it comes to delivering services through our work, so how can we miss celebrating our own anniversary, right? So, to embark 9th July as our 12th company anniversary, we organized a virtual party.

What is a virtual party without snacks, right? All the employees had prepared various snacks and drinks as well. Everyone shared pictures of how they were preparing for the virtual party. You can find these and event pictures in our Instagram page, so follow us on Instagram to never miss any update.

Event Highlights:

The main host of the party was our cool and fun-loving Database Engineer, Bishnu Tiwari. The event included two main games, various performances by our talented employees along with a special game by the host called ‘Never have I ever’. We played games, enjoyed all the performances and also listened to some of our employees sharing their fun experience of working in Spiralogics. The event mainly included:

    1. Welcome Speech
    2. Flute and Song Performances
    3. Experience Sharing
    4. Games
    5. Speech by CEO/CTO

Welcome Speech:

Party began with host Bishnu introducing himself followed by welcome speech by our soft-spoken HR manager, Anju. She shared her experience of working in Spiralogics with a brief look back on the history of Spiralogics, recalled previous anniversary celebration and how Spiralogics focus has expanded from healthcare sectors to mobile applications, lifestyle, and many more.

Flute and Song Performances:

Event kicked off by a mesmerizing flute performance by our talented employee, Sanish Maharjan. He played very famous Nepali song called ‘Ful Butte Sari’ ??. Some us were fortunate to witness such a captivating performance again by Sanish as he gave a great performance in our other annual event as well, (called) ’Spirathon’.

As music never gets out of style in our life, how can any event be complete without any song performances, right? Our passionate singer and guitarist Sayuz Shikhrakar, QA Analyst sang the hit Nepali song as well as a Hindi one. We are definitely waiting for such an exceptional performance again, Sayuz! ??

Song performances can never be enough when it comes to any celebration. To satisfy our musical desire, another passionate singer from India office, Nitin, gave his special performance by singing a Nepali song called 'Ful Butte Saari.'

We are undoubtedly waiting for a duo performance by Nitin and Sayuz.

Experience Sharing:

Joining a new office and feeling like you have known your co-workers for the past decade, even though you’ve been here for just 8 months is what Sharon Shrestha, Project Manager Trainee had to say about her experience in Spiralogics.

Working virtually and not being able to meet colleagues in person, she expressed how she was a bit nervous in the beginning but slowly she overcame her nervousness with the help of her colleagues.

Maninder Virk shared his amazing experience working as a Senior Software Architect in Spiraloigcs for the past six years. He expressed how working in Spiralogics has helped him in his professional and personal journey. With the hope of continuing this great journey even more in future, he expressed his appreciation towards the way all employees help each other in every aspect of work.

Congratulation on 12th anniversary, Parbaty Prajapati, a Senior Software Developer shared her experience working in Spiralogics since 2013. She put into her kind words about things that she has learned here and expressed immense proudness to see company expansion in different areas from the time she joined Spiralogics with only small group of people. Reminiscing normal days, she shared making family like friends and shared happy, fun pictures. She expressed how appreciative she is towards Spiralogics for its flexible working hours at times which helped to maintain her work-life balance.

Games:

One of the main highlights of the event was ‘Guess Who?’ game. We had collected baby pictures of all our employees and asked them to guess who the cute and jolly baby in the picture might be. The amazing hosts with a great sense of humor, Sujan Prajapati, Project Manager and Niket Dhakal, QA Analyst made this game even more engaging, exciting and of course. entertaining.

We didn’t really have a difficult time guessing as some of us still looked exactly same.

And not to miss cute baby pictures, here are few of them:

'Two truths and one lie' game also stole limelight which was hosted by the technical content writing team, Basu Nepal and myself. We had requested all our employees to send two truths and one lie statements about them. And it was not a surprise that we had many interesting ones. We had quite a difficult time guessing to whom statements belonged to and even harder to guess which one might be a lie, but that’s where all the fun of this game was. We learned many unexpected things about our co-workers, thanks to this game.

We even had ‘Never have I ever’ game for few minutes hosted by Bishnu and this game was carried out in between other activities to light up the mood in a special way. This game generally goes: Someone states a statement and if you can relate then you have to take a shot of your drink. How can you not take a shot for the statement like ‘Never have I ever been dumped by your partner’, right?

Speech by CEO and CTO:

This was followed by another amazing speech by our CEO, Samir Upadhyay. He expressed his contentment with growth and expansion of Spiralogics from beginning to up until this year alongside with his unhappiness having to celebrate such a memorable day in a virtual way, not being able to visit Nepal and spend time with Nepal team.

And also a motivating speech from our CTO, Saunak Ranjitkar. He started out expressing how lucky and fortunate he felt with Spiralogics International being established in Kathmandu, Nepal which provided platform for all the creative, talented and of course, comedian people to join as an employee, making it a healthy and positive work environment.

Apart from planned activities, we were glad to have a spontaneous song performance by another employee Sujeen Rajak, currently working as a .NET developer. Undoubteedly, we were enchanted by his singing ability.

And we can never miss any chance to hear heartfelt yet chucklesome life-related sayari by our lekhakji aka writer Niket Dhakal, who managed to make everyone sentimental out of nowhere.

Even though the event was planned for 2 hours only, we knew that it would not have been enough for our never ending pointless and funny conversations to various spontaneous singing performances and other life talks. The event ended up going until mid-night! (Are we even surprised?)

Until next anniversary, cheers to everyone!
